Tree of Life
Revelation 22:1-2 (NIV) describes the river flowing "… down the middle of the great street" and on each side of the river was the tree of life "... down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations"
"By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They will bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing." – (Ezek.47:12)
When I read these scriptures I began to think there is more than one tree of life. Even in Zechariah there are two olive trees which are the witnesses. These are some of the thoughts I had about the Tree of Life.
The two trees are one tree. The two Testaments are one testament or covenant. It was true that the word was written on parchment made of leaves, which is the healing for the nations. In Hebrew teachings. The two sticks that held the parchments or scrolls were called the tree of life. This is why the word Torah in Hebrew is written on the leaves in the painting.
This is just one small journey in the word. I know there is much more to learn about the tree of life and about the living word --who is Yeshua.
